A 7 week prenatal series to get you ready for birth and baby!
There is so much to learn during pregnancy. Expecting parents often feel pulled in many directions not knowing what they need to know or what to expect from birth and their new baby.
This 7 week prenatal series takes away the stress by giving you a well-rounded preparation for welcoming your new baby. You will learn all about birth as well as breastfeeding, infant sleep, and the first few months with baby.
This series is taught by Kim Hawley, MA, MPH, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Educator Counselor, and Infant Sleep Educator.

Comprehensive Childbirth Education
The first 4 weeks of this class focuses on childbirth, using the Your Birth Experience curriculum. This series will help you identify your individual needs in birth while providing practical guidance for communicating with your birth team. You will learn all about the process of birth, how to prepare, comfort measures, laboring positions, and common interventions. By the end of class you will be ready for your birth however it unfolds.
Comprehensive Breastfeeding Education
Class 5 focuses on breastfeeding so that you can start your breastfeeding relationship with confidence. You will learn how breastfeeding works, what to expect from breastfeeding and your breastfed baby, how to know your baby is getting enough, and what to do if problems come up.
Realistic Expectations about Your Baby’s Sleep
So many parents have no idea what is normal when it comes to their baby’s sleep. In class 6 we will talk all about normal infant sleep, ensuring safe sleep, and nighttime parenting tools. You will learn how to support your baby’s development and create a healthy relationship with sleep.
The 4th Trimester
While eating and sleeping are a huge part of a baby’s life in the first few months, there is so much more to thriving as a new family. Class 7 gives practical strategies for how to thrive as a family in baby’s first 3 months (the 4th trimester). We will discuss the concept of the 4th trimester, postpartum care, managing visitors, and tools for soothing and bonding with baby.
This series costs $300 per individual, $400 per couple
This series is held in a private residence in Capitol Hill, Washington DC less than 2 blocks from Stadium Armory Metro. Exact address will be given after class registration.
